It's My Park! Day
A Huge Success

Thousands celebrated their local parks on Saturday October 25th.

On Saturday, October 25, 2008, as part of It's My Park! Day, thousands of volunteers in 175 neighborhood parks throughout the five boroughs helped restore and preserve their community's local green space and recreation areas, all while having fun and building neighborhood connections.

216 different organizations attended over 200 events, where participants planted 150,000 flowerbulbs all part of one of the largest volunteer days in New York City. Many of the bulbs were generously donated by B&K Flowerbulbs in Voorhout, Netherlands in honor of the 400th anniversary of Dutch settlement in New York City.
